Dr. Spivack at South Florida Medical Research in Aventura, FL is conducting research that could help arthritis sufferers all over the world. Dr. Spivack is currently recruiting participants for a new research study called The PRECISION Study. The study will compare 3 approved medicines commonly used to treat pain in people who have osteoarthritis (OA) or rheumatoid arthritis (RA).  The study is being conducted throughout the United States in 12 other countries around the world. In total, 20,000 people will be participating.

To participate in The PRECISION Study, participants must have OA or RA as well as heart disease or be at high risk for heart disease. You know you have heart disease if you have had a heart attack or a stroke or have diabetes. You may be at high risk for heart disease if you smoke, if a family member has heart disease, or if you have high blood pressure or high cholesterol. The PRECISION Study will help doctors choose the most appropriate pain reliever for their arthritis patients with heart disease.

During the study, participants will receive study-related medical care and study medication at no charge. To see whether you may qualify or for more information, please contact Cheryl Ahlstrom at Dr. spivack’s office at 305-931-8080, ext 306. Each and every one of the 20,000 people who join The PRECISION Study will be making an important contribution to arthritis research.
