Greetings:

I am writing to you to enlist your aid in helping us to eliminate prostate cancer forever. On Saturday September 15, 2012 thousands of people will join together at Huizenga Plaza in Ft Lauderdale, Florida where The Great Prostate Cancer Challenge will take place. The day will feature a 5 K Run/Walk for people of all ages. This event will be the first of its kind in the South Florida area and will reflect the collective efforts of individuals throughout Florida. With this daunting task before us we are asking you to join us in helping to raise the funding required to support prostate cancer research and eliminate the disease.

The Great Prostate Cancer Challenge will occur as the result of Project Zero, a national, non-profit organization committed to prostate cancer research, joining with The Miami Center for Prostate Health and the physicians at Uromedix Urology to make this event an annual, signature event. Our physicians work tirelessly in helping to educate, diagnose and treat this disease. According to the American Cancer Society, over 200,000 new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed annually in the United States. Funds from the race will go to provide both federal and local free testing for high-risk men.

As a valued member of our community, we would ask that you play an important role in the success for this event. If you would like to join the race as a participant or as a sponsor, please visit our website. Without question, the generosity of our local community will largely determine our ultimate success.

Whether you have a family member touched by prostate cancer or simply have a friend or co-worker who has been diagnosed with the condition, all of us may be affected in some way by this disease.

Every year, thousands of men find that they too must personally confront prostate cancer. Please join us in this unique opportunity to stand with those who battle prostate cancer every day through a generous contribution to The Great Prostate Cancer Challenge.

If you have questions or would like more information, please contact either Maria Ballesteros at mballesteros@uromedix.org or Nanette Jackson atnjackson@uromedix.org.
